Light of Creation
Eyes closed,
The wind stills,
Can we still feel the world turning?
Return to Brahma’s creation,
The eternal rhythm
Has long been guiding us.
Light,
Wind,
Interwoven, embracing the endless cycle of perishment and rebirth.
Light gives of itself freely, filling all available space…… It does not seek anything in return. ──Michael Strassfeld
The birth of the universe,
Light,
Becoming wind,
Flowing, creating, cycling—endless.
Love,
Like wind, like light—selfless.
Hinduism / 14th–15th Century / 40 × 74 × 16.5 cm / Stone
Through the museum's Brahma stone statue, a vessel of truth and illumination, we trace the origins of the cosmos and glimpse the profound reality that all existence arises from the same formless source of energy.
He has three faces, his gaze serene, his posture dignified. Though his four arms and sacred texts are not fully visible, the structure of the statue evokes the image of Brahma, the god of creation.
In Hindu mythology, Brahma establishes the world's order through wisdom and sound. Legend holds that he created the fifty Sanskrit syllables, imparting truth to humanity. The third eye on his forehead and the flowing patterns on his garments symbolize light, inspiring reverence for knowledge, language, and creativity. This figure is not a distant icon but a presence at the very beginning of our inquiry and exploration of the world.
