The collection policy of MWR is based on the spirits of respect, tolerance and love to protect the religious cultural assets and to collect and treasure religious artifacts; furthermore to promote the museum's research, exhibition, education and other functions. The collection range is based on the history, culture, artistic value, living application or educational value in conjunction with the exhibition theme. Especially in the construction phase, the collection plan was to meet the needs of opening. The collection policy and research direction are carried out along with the exhibition planning.

Over years, the museum's collection policy and direction have not been changed much. The main approaches of collecting artifacts are through purchase and donation. We strive to maintain a standard warehouse that was built for long term and are committed to proper maintenance and preservation of collections. In recent years, we were also actively involved in National Science Council's Digital Archives Program, and gradually digitized collections so that the database, interpretation, research and management may be applied more diversely in order to be able to display collections' characteristics and cultural values. We hope that in the future we can continue to collect even more marvelous religious artifacts.
