The Qixing Sword, also known as the Treasure Sword or Magic Sword, is a sacred weapon used for slaying demons and warding off evil spirits. The Qixing Sword differs from conventional swords in that it has seven rivets embedded in its blade, symbolizing the seven stars of the Big Dipper. This design is believed to possess the power to repel evil spirits and demons. It is said to be one of the legendary Celestial Master Zhang’s magical weapons. Sometimes, the blade of the sword can also be adorned with inscriptions or symbols to enhance its spiritual potency. Taoist priests use it for protection, on the altar to summon the Four Spirits, and it is often hung high as a magic weapon to ward off evil spirits in the community.
