The Museum of World Religions has transformed the " Hall of Life Journeys" into a learning resource for contemporary life education and extended it to schools at all levels and ethnic groups of all ages, to make "Respect, Tolerance, Love" closer to people's lives and life courses. Continuing the series planning of life education and special exhibitions in 2019 and 2020, this year has entered the mid-life. Inner peace and happiness are important goals, but like a 20-year-old Museum, it bears more responsibilities and missions. Through innovative and lively display methods, we carry out a life journey of happiness, responsibility, self-consciousness and sharing, so that the public can see our interpretation and sharing of love and peace of the museum from different angles and the emphasis on life education brands.
Many pathways may lead to a happy relationship between the sexes. Just like an uncertain road trip, even with the blessings of divine teammates from “Heaven”, mutual support from a divine teammate of the “human kind” is still required to share the wonderful scenery and take the bus to the next stop in life. The exhibition begins with five bus stops representing different stages of relationships, extending to the five characteristics that the divine teammate should possess.
The first stop “Goddess of Love Bus Stop” is represented by Venus and Cupid, the mother and son pair in Roman mythology, showcasing the famous sayings on love from around the world to help the viewers better understand the value of universal yearning. The second stop “The Treehouse of Yue Lao” presents people’s hope as they search for true love through various displays of props for tying knots kept by Yue Lao, the God of Marriage and Love. The third stop “Kamadeva Garden” displays the tokens of love captured by Kamadeva, the Indian goddess of desire, to witness the very moment when people fall in love.
The fourth stop is “The Ōkuninushi Husband and Wife Village”. Under the guidance of Japan’s Husband and Wife Deity, the Ōkuninushi couple, learn about various marriage ceremonial objects that bring blessings and hope for newlyweds. The fifth stop “Ixchel Falls” describes the Mayan goddess of midwifery and medicine by relying on auspicious fertility objects to elaborate on the joy and endless possibilities brought by a new life. It is a wonder inspired by love that will continue for generations.
