世界宗教博物館以尊重、包容、博愛為主旨，長期投入生命教育推廣，展覽也運用多元媒材，拉近與觀眾的距離。漫畫在當今社會有著超越族群、語言的力量與社會影響力，特此規劃祈福漫畫特展，以不同藝術媒介呈現出神佛菩薩豐富的樣貌。

展覽分為兩個展區，首先是「漫畫家筆下的佛世界」，是為東日本大地震重建援助而發起的漫畫巡迴展，匯集了64位日本漫畫家與插畫家的作品，在畫作中登場的佛像不只弘揚了佛教的教義，也以幽默方式表達出對人道的關懷。另一展區以「祈願‧台灣」為主題，透過37位台灣漫畫家、插畫家各自的視野以及對這塊土地的關心與祝福，詮釋諸神菩薩是如何守護寶島家園。作品意涵除了充分表現出祈求平安往往是不同文化、不同族群的共同心願外，同時也希望透過台日漫畫的同場展出，讓大眾對於宗教文化有更多層次的認識，以及感受到漫畫為心靈帶來的寧靜與感動。

Advocating respect, tolerance, and fraternity, the Museum of World Religions has long been devoted to the promotion of education in life. Through the use of various media for its exhibitions, it has always sought to establish greater relevance with viewers. In today’s society, comics have the power to surpass ethnicity and language, as well as exert a certain amount of social influence. The museum therefore organized this exhibition on blessing comics. The diverse appearances of gods, Buddha, and Bodhisattva are portrayed using various art media.

The exhibition is divided into two sections. The first is themed “Buddha Illustration by Manga Artists” which is a comics touring exhibition launched to raise funds for reconstruction after the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami. The exhibition features the artworks of 64 Japanese cartoonists and illustrators, wherein Buddha statues promote Buddhist dogma while expressing concern for humanity in humorous ways. The other exhibition area displays artworks themed “Prayer, Taiwan”, created by 37 Taiwanese cartoonists and illustrators who present their respective visions while expressing their concerns and blessings for this land. The artists depict how gods and Bodhisattva safeguard the precious island that is their home. This exhibition sufficiently addresses how security is the common prayer shared by humans despite cultural and ethnic differences. In addition, the presentation of Taiwanese and Japanese comics at the same venue facilitates understanding of religious cultures from various aspects while deeply moving and instilling in viewers a sense of inner peace.
